Job Summary

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Retail Team Lead to join our team at our Exeter store. As a Retail Team Lead, you will be responsible for leading a team of sales associates and providing exceptional customer service to our customers. You will also be responsible for driving sales growth, managing store operations, and maintaining a high level of customer satisfaction.

Key Responsibilities

  • Customer Experience
    • Provide exceptional customer service and support to customers in a fast-paced retail environment.
    • Lead by example and motivate team members to deliver exceptional customer service.
    • Support the management team in delivering product training and ensuring that team members are fully versed in all products.
    • Use your best judgment in all customer service matters and make appropriate decisions to ensure customer satisfaction.
  • Commercial
    • Drive sales growth and meet or exceed sales targets.
    • Motivate and influence the team to deliver daily targets and KPIs.
    • Assist in the analysis of sales data and contribute to the development of commercial strategies.
    • Run the store efficiently and manage the shop floor effectively in the absence of management.
  • Operations
    • Responsible for the opening and closing of the store and ensuring that all store assets are secure.
    • Accurately follow cash management procedures and ensure that all cash handling is documented and signed for.
    • Assist with health and safety compliance tests and ensure that all health and safety policies are adhered to.
    • Ensure that all store operations are running smoothly and efficiently.
  • People
    • Be a positive and respectful role model and communicate positively regarding the store, management, and company strategies.
    • Assist management with all store training and provide feedback to team members.
    • Build relationships with team members and provide support and guidance as needed.
    • Communicate effectively with the management team and provide feedback on store operations and customer service.

Requirements

  • Previous experience in a leadership role within a customer-focused environment.
  • A strong understanding of exceptional customer service and sales techniques.
  • Good experience in working towards targets and KPIs.
  • Good knowledge of retail operations and procedures.
  • A passion for the outdoors and a commitment to sustainability.
  • Able to lead by example and motivate team members to deliver exceptional customer service.
  • Able to work effectively in a fast-paced retail environment.
