About the Role

We are seeking a highly motivated and organized Receptionist to join our team at Nottingham City General Practice Alliance. As a Receptionist, you will be the first point of contact for patients and visitors, providing a warm and welcoming experience.

Main Responsibilities

  • Manage the reception desk, ensuring surgeries run smoothly and efficiently
  • Receive patients and visitors, answering queries and providing information
  • Process appointment requests, take messages, and pass them on to the relevant staff members
  • Action repeat prescriptions in accordance with practice guidelines
  • Provide point of contact for patients, acting as a focal point of communication between patients, doctors, and other members of the Primary Health Care Teams
  • Take requests for home visits, recording and processing them
  • Liaise with hospitals, primary health care teams, social services, and other relevant organizations
  • Update patient records, maintaining confidentiality
  • Perform administrative tasks, such as photocopying, scanning, and shredding
  • Work in accordance with written protocols and practice procedures
  • Attend team training events and participate in ongoing development and training
