Job Summary

We are seeking a high-calibre project and programme portfolio manager to help shape and deliver mixed tenure housing developments to support the significant growth across the borough. This is an exciting and varied role that puts the individual in charge of managing some of the Council's key mix tenure housing schemes and aiming for excellence on a personal level across a number of portfolios.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage and deliver mixed tenure housing schemes, interfacing with internal departments and external consultant teams and development partners.
  • Report to the Assistant Director of Development Partnerships & Regeneration and work with Strategic Directors, Directors, Assistant Directors, and other service leads to ensure consistent strategic alignment.
  • Drive projects from a management perspective, prioritising and delivering against objectives.
  • Model and maintain the Council's values and behaviours, demonstrating leadership skills and inspiring others to work collaboratively with peers, service colleagues, partners, and stakeholders.
Essential Requirements
  • Experience of working at senior management level in the delivery of project/programmes within a Local Government environment.
  • Experience of housing and non-housing led regeneration, compulsory purchase orders, land assembly, and joint venture partnerships to facilitate developments in key areas of the borough.
  • Experience with practical delivery of schemes from inception to occupation and project closure (post defects resolution period).
  • Experience of developing a strong network of contacts within the public and private sectors.
