Job Summary

An exciting opportunity has arisen to join the dynamic Headache Nursing Team at University Hospitals Sussex NHS Foundation Trust (279). As a Clinical Nurse Specialist in Headache, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality specialist care, management, and treatment to individuals suffering from complex and chronic headache disorders.

Main Duties

Key responsibilities include running independent face-to-face and telemedicine clinics, providing education and support to patients, and collaborating with the Band 7 CNS to deliver nursing care and support with clinical governance within the Headache service.

You will manage a varied caseload of patients with headache disorders, utilizing evidence-based strategies to achieve the best outcomes and improve quality of life. A key aspect of the role is delivering injectable therapies, including botulin toxin A for chronic migraine and greater occipital nerve blocks.

Person Specification

The ideal candidate will possess:

  • NMC Registration
  • Adult nursing degree or equivalent
  • Post-graduate development
  • Previous Band 6 experience
  • Effective team working skills
  • Experience in Neurosciences

Desirable qualifications include experience within Headache Specialist Services and experience with botulinum toxin.
