Job Overview

University Hospitals Sussex NHS Foundation Trust is seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Headache Specialist Nurse to join our dynamic team. As a key member of our Neurology department, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality care and management to patients suffering from complex and chronic headache disorders.

Main Responsibilities
  • Provide specialist care and management to patients with headache disorders, including running independent face-to-face and telemedicine clinics.
  • Deliver injectable therapies, such as botulin toxin A for chronic migraine and greater occipital nerve blocks.
  • Support the Band 7 CNS in delivering nursing care and clinical governance within the Headache service.
  • Manage a varied caseload of patients with headache disorders, using evidence-based strategies to achieve the best outcomes.
Key Requirements
  • NMC Registration
  • Degree-level adult nursing or equivalent
  • Evidence of post-graduate development
  • Previous band 6 experience
  • Evidence of effective team working
  • Evidence of experience in Neurosciences
Desirable Criteria
  • Experience within Headache Specialist Services
  • Experience with botulinum toxin
