About the Role

This is an exciting opportunity to join the dynamic Headache Nursing Team at University Hospitals Sussex NHS Foundation Trust (279) as a Headache Clinical Nurse Specialist.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide high-quality specialist care, management, and treatment to people suffering from a range of complex and chronic headache disorders.
  • Run independent face-to-face and telemedicine clinics, as well as provide education and support to patients.
  • Support the Band 7 CNS to deliver nursing care and support with clinical governance within the Headache service.
  • Manage a varied caseload of patients with headache disorders, using evidence-based strategies to seek the best outcomes and improve quality of life.
  • Deliver injectable therapies, including botulinum toxin A for chronic migraine and greater occipital nerve blocks.

Person Specification

  • NMC Registration
  • Degree-level adult nursing or equivalent
  • Evidence of post-graduate development
  • Previous Band 6 experience
  • Evidence of effective team working
  • Evidence of experience in Neurosciences

Desirable Qualifications and Experience

  • Experience within Headache Specialist Services
  • Experience with botulinum toxin
