About the Role

We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Pastoral Officer to work at a secondary school in Barnet. The successful candidate will have a passion for supporting children's welfare and well-being, with experience working with vulnerable children, children with SEMH needs, or children with challenging behaviour.

Key Responsibilities
  • Work alongside the Head of Year to promote excellent attendance and punctuality of all students, collaborating with students, parents, the attendance team, and outside agencies.
  • Contribute to the safeguarding team to ensure students are safe in and beyond school, monitoring behaviour and applying intervention strategies as necessary.
  • Develop effective communication with parents, carers, and outside agencies to offer support and personalised intervention strategies for students.
About You

We are looking for an individual with:

  • Experience working with vulnerable children, children with SEMH needs, or children with challenging behaviour.
  • A strong interest in education and a desire to inspire young people.
  • Excellent organisational skills and the ability to work effectively in a team.
