**Job Summary**

We are seeking an experienced IT Core Systems Specialist to join our team at Bradford College. As a key member of our IT department, you will play a critical role in the installation, configuration, operation, maintenance, development, backup, and securing of our server infrastructure.

**Key Responsibilities**

  • Assist with the administration, design, development, and support of our server infrastructure systems, both on-premise, hosted, and cloud-based.
  • Work to IT security best practices and ensure IT compliance to industry standards, collaborating with auditors as required to provide evidence to support compliance claims.
  • Ensure that our infrastructure is regularly tested and monitored for security concerns.
  • Manage the college's server infrastructure and data center as part of the IT core systems team.
  • Assist in the management of college systems under the remit of the IT Core systems department, including security devices and services, identity management, and other network services.
  • Support college remote access, ensuring user, system, and data security.
  • Monitor traffic patterns and resource usage to help the team be proactive and ahead in terms of provision and capacity planning.
  • Monitor environmental parameters and implement practices to prevent system failure.

**Requirements**

  • Experience in server infrastructure administration, design, development, and support.
  • Strong understanding of IT security best practices and industry standards.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with the IT team and other stakeholders.
  • Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
