Position Overview

Job Title: Lead Systems Engineer

Location: Leyland, Lancashire

Compensation: Approximately £50,000 based on experience

Key Responsibilities:

  • Operate from our Leyland facility as a vital member of the PACCAR Powertrain eDS team.
  • Engage with our international colleagues to spearhead and assist in various electrification initiatives.
  • Define and deliver e-drive solutions applicable to the complete PACCAR global vehicle lineup.
  • Collaborate with essential stakeholders within PACCAR divisions and external partners to conceptualize and enhance products.
  • Facilitate the global assembly of prototypes and vehicles utilizing your components.
  • Ensure adherence to evolving customer requirements and regulatory standards during the design and manufacturing phases.
  • Examine failures encountered during testing and take responsibility for resolving component-related issues.
  • Work alongside supply chain management to ensure seamless processes and component availability.
  • Support and uphold FMEA processes associated with e-Powertrain systems.

Candidate Profile:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent in automotive, mechanical, electrical, Mechatronics, or Controls.
  • Demonstrated experience with diverse automotive electric driveline systems.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of automotive electric machines and power electronics.
  • Familiarity with vehicle functional safety standards (ISO26262) and cybersecurity is a plus.
  • Understanding of controls and vehicle architecture is advantageous.
  • Excellent communication and cross-company collaboration abilities.
  • Experience with DFMEA, DVP&R, and DFSS methodologies.
  • Familiarity with requirements management tools such as DNG and Polarion is preferred.
