Job Title: Learning Support Assistant

We are seeking an experienced and dedicated Learning Support Assistant to join our team at an educational establishment in Bury.

About the Role:

This is a temporary full-time position, starting as soon as possible, to support the needs of students with Special Educational Needs (SEN). The successful candidate will work closely with teachers and other support staff to provide individualized support to students who may display challenging behaviours and require additional assistance to engage with learning.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide one-to-one support to students with SEN, promoting their inclusion and participation in lessons
  • Assist teachers with lesson planning, preparation, and delivery, ensuring that students receive the support they need to access the curriculum
  • Develop and implement strategies to support students with challenging behaviours, working closely with teachers and other support staff to ensure consistency and continuity
  • Maintain accurate records of student progress and provide regular feedback to teachers and other support staff
Requirements:
  • Degree-educated with a good classification
  • Previous experience working with young people, preferably in an educational setting
  • Up-to-date Safeguarding training, issued in the last year
  • Up-to-date Prevent Awareness and FGM training, issued in the last 3 years
  • Recent Behaviour Management training, completed in the last year
  • Enhanced Child Barred List DBS certificate, registered with the online update service
  • Two professional child-related references
