Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Accounts Manager to join our team at The Smartlist. As a Senior Accounts Manager, you will be responsible for managing a portfolio of clients and working closely with team members to deliver high-quality accounts and tax compliance assignments.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage a portfolio of clients and deliver timely and high-quality accounts and tax compliance assignments
  • Supervise and mentor trainees to ensure they meet the required standards
  • Prepare and review sole trader, partnership, and limited company accounts, tax computations, and personal and partnership tax returns
  • Manage work in progress levels and undertake client billing
  • Develop and maintain a good working knowledge of income, corporation, and capital gains taxes
  • Manage deadlines and prioritize work effectively
  • Develop and maintain excellent 'soft' skills, including written and spoken communications, problem-solving, and people/client relationship management

Requirements

  • ACA/ACCA qualification or qualified by experience with at least two years at manager level gained in an accounting practice
  • Experience of preparing and reviewing accounts, tax computations, and personal and partnership tax returns
  • Ability to manage a portfolio of clients and work effectively in a team
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work with people at all levels
  • Current driving license
