Job Summary
RPS Group is seeking an experienced Ecological Director to join our team in Birmingham. As an Ecological Director, you will be responsible for leading our ecological team in delivering high-quality services to our clients.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and manage the ecological team in delivering master planning inputs, ecological appraisals, ornithological surveys, and other protected species surveys.
- Grow and develop the ecological team, providing technical oversight and sign-off on project output.
- Project manage a wide and varied workload, supervising field staff and survey effort.
- Undertake site surveys, carry out ecological impact assessments, and design and implement ecological mitigation measures.
- Develop and maintain long-lasting client relationships, generating and effectively managing new business opportunities.
- Have responsibility for financial planning and management, including budgeting and forecasting.
Requirements
- Full membership of CIEEM and a degree (or equivalent) in a relevant subject.
- Established experience as an ecological consultant, with extensive project management experience in consultancy.
- Ability to lead a team and develop good client relationships to secure repeat business and gain new clients.
- Knowledge of UK and EU Wildlife Legislation and best practice survey techniques.
- Ability to plan and undertake habitat surveys and identify indicator plant species and habitat types.
