Role Overview

Purpose of the Position

This role aims to deliver insightful, precise, and impactful reporting and dashboards across the Professional Services (PS) sector.

The selected candidate will be expected to work from our office a minimum of two days each week.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, and implement BI data solutions across PS, including data models, pipelines, reports, Power BI dashboards, and KPI scorecards.
  • Oversee and create complex tabular models as needed, including SQL database development for efficient data management.
  • Utilize SQL Server Analysis Services (SSAS) for larger data models, incorporating complex DAX as required.
  • Conduct business analysis and gather requirements from stakeholders to design optimal technical solutions, translating these into actionable development tasks.
  • Create automated, sustainable reporting solutions while identifying enhancements to existing processes to improve efficiency and reduce technical debt.
  • Monitor security within Power BI, implementing Row Level Security (RLS) in data models.
  • Establish Power BI Gateways, Workspaces, and Apps, ensuring appropriate access controls are in place.
  • Document processes, database models, and architectural plans thoroughly.
  • Integrate multiple data sets into cohesive and sustainable solutions to provide a unified source of truth for the organization.
  • Collaborate with various teams to enhance data literacy and empower them with the necessary tools, reports, and guidance to leverage insights for informed decision-making.

Qualifications

Essential Skills and Experience

  • Proficient in MS Power BI and DAX.
  • Strong SQL skills for querying, analysis, and optimization.
  • Experience with Microsoft Development (Visual Studio) tools for managing database and BI projects.
  • Knowledge of best practices for creating compelling data visualizations and reports.
  • Familiarity with industry-standard data warehousing modeling techniques.
  • Understanding of ETL processes using diverse data sources.
  • Ability to work autonomously as well as collaboratively within a team.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Comprehension of processes, data, and strategic priorities.
  • Capability to design solutions that meet user requirements while adhering to design and ethical standards.
  • Commitment to the successful delivery of products and establishing maintenance protocols.

Professional Qualifications and Education

  • A background in STEM is preferred, though relevant experience is paramount.
  • Power BI certifications are advantageous.
