About the Role
We are seeking a highly motivated and compassionate Therapy Assistant to join our team at Wiltshire Health and Care LLP. As a Therapy Assistant, you will play a vital role in supporting our patients with stroke rehabilitation, working closely with our multidisciplinary team to ensure the best possible outcomes.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist registered staff in assessment and therapy tasks, ensuring that patients receive high-quality care and support.
- Implement treatment plans agreed with the registered therapy staff, including overseeing and assisting with physical exercise, personal care, and practice of domestic activities of daily living.
- Work with patients with cognitive and/or perceptual difficulties, providing support and guidance to help them achieve their rehabilitation goals.
- Train and educate patients, carers, and families under the direction of registered staff, promoting independence and empowerment.
Requirements
- Good general education.
- Relevant NVQ Level 3 in health care or Equivalent (or willingness to undertake).
- 12 months experience of working in a care setting.
- Some knowledge and awareness of neuro and general rehabilitation principles.
- Knowledge of and ability to use, patient handling and technical equipment relevant to patient group.
