We are seeking a motivated and passionate individual to join our well-established therapy team on our 20-bed stroke rehabilitation ward at Chippenham Community Hospital.
Main ResponsibilitiesAs a Therapy Assistant, you will work within a multi-disciplinary team to provide support and treatment to individuals following a stroke, ensuring opportunities for patients to rehabilitate are optimised during their stay on the ward.
Key responsibilities include:
- Assisting registered staff in assessment and therapy tasks
- Moving, treating, and communicating with patients in accordance with the therapy plan
- Implementing treatment plans agreed with registered therapy staff, including overseeing and assisting with physical exercise, personal care, and practice of domestic activities of daily living
- Working with patients with cognitive and/or perceptual difficulties
- Training and educating patients, carers, and families under the direction of registered staff
