Job Title: 1:1 Behaviour Specialist

We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Behaviour Specialist to join our team at a SEN Primary School in Bedford. As a Behaviour Specialist, you will play a vital role in supporting students with severe and complex learning difficulties and health needs.

Job Summary:

The successful candidate will provide 1:1 support to students, working closely with class teachers to develop and implement personalized learning plans. You will be responsible for supporting students to learn new skills, challenge them to be independent, and ensure their overall wellbeing.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Support class Senior LSA's and Teachers with resource preparation to meet individual student needs.
  • Provide 1:1 support under teacher supervision for skills-based learning.
  • Collaborate with class Teachers to report on student progress using evidence-based approaches.
  • Enable students to learn by understanding their goals, practicing new skills, and challenging them to be independent.
  • Contribute to the provision of support necessary for students' wellbeing and engagement in learning.
  • Implement Safeguarding policies and procedures.
Requirements:

A minimum of GCSE qualifications in English and Maths is required. Prior experience working in a similar role within an educational setting is ideal, but not necessary. This role comes with additional responsibilities compared to a Teaching Assistant's role.

Desirable Skills:
  • Initiative to take proactive actions.
  • Organisational skills to manage tasks efficiently.
  • Prioritisation skills to handle multiple responsibilities.

All pay rates quoted include 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This is a temporary position, with the option to become permanent in the future.
