Position Overview

The individual in this role will be responsible for delivering inspiring clinical leadership within the ward, ensuring that the highest standards of safe and effective care are consistently maintained.

The Clinical Ward Supervisor is tasked with fostering a culture of quality care and operational excellence, ensuring that all team members receive the necessary guidance, support, performance evaluations, and opportunities for ongoing professional growth.

This role includes the responsibility of engaging patients in their care decisions, utilizing feedback from patients and their families to drive enhancements in service delivery.

The Clinical Ward Supervisor will oversee the performance and delivery of all nursing and support personnel within the ward, ensuring adherence to established care and treatment standards.

Additionally, the Supervisor will manage the ward's operations, ensuring adequate staffing levels to provide effective care while optimizing resource utilization in accordance with budgetary constraints.

It is also the Supervisor's duty to ensure that any clinical incidents are thoroughly investigated, with timely actions taken and recommendations for improvement implemented.

Your visible leadership will significantly enhance the quality of patient care and contribute to the ongoing improvement and sustainability of care quality metrics for the ward.

The post-holder will be scheduled to work at least one clinical shift per week on the ward.

Qualifications and Training

Essential:

  • Registered Nurse with relevant post-qualification experience and a proven track record in leadership.
  • Diploma or Degree in a relevant field or equivalent experience.

Desirable:

  • Management or Leadership qualification.
  • Post-registration specialty modules.
  • Chemotherapy training.
  • Further studies in Haematology or Diabetes.

Experience

  • Extensive experience in a senior clinical role within a similar environment (previous experience at Band 6 level).
