Design Team Lead

We are seeking an experienced Design Team Lead to join our growing team at Owen Daniels. As a key member of our design team, you will be responsible for leading the design process, managing engineering changes, and overseeing the workload of junior members.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Recruitment and Training: Responsible for recruiting and training junior members to ensure they have the necessary skills and knowledge to excel in their roles.
  • Design Review Meetings: Organise and run design review meetings to ensure that all design projects are on track and meet the required standards.
  • Engineering Changes and Workloads: Manage engineering changes and workloads to ensure that projects are completed on time and within budget.
  • Customer Briefs and Site Visits: Manage customer briefs, visit customer sites, and take measurements and details as required.
Essential Experience and Skills:
  • Autodesk Inventor: To produce concept models and drawings using Autodesk Inventor for customer approval and quotations.
  • Manufacturing Drawings: Create full manufacturing drawings from Autodesk Inventor models.
  • Modeling and Design: To model parts, sub-assemblies, and projects in Autodesk Inventor.
  • Production Techniques: Must have knowledge of production techniques available, including welding and fabrication, and bolted assembly techniques.
