Mechanical Sales Engineer

We are seeking a highly motivated and skilled Graduate Mechanical Sales Engineer to join our team at Close Resource Management Ltd. As a Graduate Mechanical Sales Engineer, you will be responsible for providing technical sales support to our customers, identifying and developing commercial opportunities, and working closely with our sales and technical teams to deliver high-quality solutions.
Key Responsibilities:- Communicate with customers and sales teams to interpret customer and application requirements and define relevant application data.
- Select products and develop solutions and proposals to satisfy customer application requirements.
- Commercially cost and prepare proposals of these solutions to the point of negotiation by sales/commercial teams.
- Liaise with internal and external suppliers to source products and technically support pre- and post-sales.
- Contract reviews, technical handover to sales support/purchasing and production teams, and project kick-off meetings to ensure the specification is correct prior to supply.
- Visit customer sites to better understand application needs and define optimal solutions, help promote products, and develop business.
- Offer technical support and occasional project management to see projects through to delivery.
- Support colleagues and customers in commissioning or aftermarket problem resolution or warranty issues.
- Support and drive development of company and team technical ability and competence in all relevant departments (Sales, Technical, Workshop).
- Help develop technical tools and selection processes, efficient working practices, and information sourcing and communication.
- Mechanical engineering degree or equivalent combination of qualification and experience.
- Ability to interpret engineering drawings.
- Basic knowledge of electronic/hydraulic products and applications.
- Excellent communication skills and phone manner.
- An appreciation of the commercial side of engineering.
- Ability and aptitude to identify and develop commercial opportunity beyond the initial RFQ or technical query.
