About This Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Maintenance Technician to join our team at Graduate Hotels. As a key member of our facilities team, you will be responsible for ensuring the smooth operation of our hotel's maintenance and repair functions.

Responsibilities

  • To identify and rectify any maintenance issues within the hotel on a daily basis, in accordance with departmental standards and within an appropriate timeframe.
  • To conduct regular hotel inspections to identify maintenance requirements and ensure that all equipment is operated in line with trained instructions and is maintained in a clean working condition.
  • To carry out structured PPM (Pre-Preventative Maintenance) to a high standard of finish and ensure that all work complies with safety standards.
  • To prioritize and complete all jobs according to departmental standards and ensure that guests and relevant managers are informed of any delays or issues.
  • To interact with all departments as and when required and provide excellent communication and customer service skills.
  • To perform basic plumbing, carpentry, and electrical tasks, including unblocking drains, fixing leaks, replacing taps/sinks/toilets, and basic electrical work.
  • To maintain a safe and secure environment for guests, staff, and visitors and ensure that all hazardous substances are stored and used in line with trained instructions.

Requirements

  • Previous experience in a similar role, ideally from a hotel environment.
  • A good knowledge of Health and Safety and the ability to multi-task and make sound decisions in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills and the ability to work various shift patterns, including mornings, afternoons, evenings, and weekends.
  • Able to work independently and as part of a team and possess a positive attitude and a willingness to learn.
  • Electric and plumbing qualifications would be advantageous.
