We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Consultant Psychiatrist to join our team at Avon and Wiltshire Mental Health Partnership NHS Trust. As a Consultant in Older Adult Psychiatry, you will be responsible for providing medical input to our Community Mental Health Team, Memory Service, and Care Home Liaison Team.
Key Responsibilities- Provide medical input to the Community Mental Health Team, Memory Service, and Care Home Liaison Team.
- Work collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams to deliver high-quality patient care.
- Assess and treat patients with complex mental health needs, including those requiring an assertive approach.
- Provide advice to members of the Multi-Disciplinary Teams and attend regular Team MDT meetings.
- Assess and treat outpatients in clinics and hold CPA meetings as required.
- Liaise with other parts of the service, GPs, and non-NHS organisations to ensure seamless care.
- Prepare Mental Health Act Tribunal reports and participate in Mental Health Act Tribunal meetings as necessary.
- MB BS or equivalent medical qualification.
- Fully registered with the GMC with a licence to practise at the time of appointment.
- Included on the GMC Specialist Register or within six months of gaining CCT.
- Approved clinician status or able to achieve within three months of appointment.
- Experience of assessing and treating patients in a community setting.
- Leadership skills and ability to work collaboratively in a multidisciplinary team.
- Excellent communication and written skills.
