Consultant in Adult Community Psychiatry Specialist

We are seeking a highly skilled Consultant Psychiatrist to join our team at Avon and Wiltshire Mental Health Partnership NHS Trust. As a Consultant in Adult Community Psychiatry, you will be responsible for providing medical input to a population of approximately 15,000 older adults registered with GP practices in West Wiltshire.
Key Responsibilities- Provide advice to members of the Multi-Disciplinary Teams in West Wiltshire and the North Wiltshire Dementia Service.
- Regular remote attendance at MDT meetings.
- Assessment and treatment of outpatients in virtual and physically present clinics.
- Visit patients in their own place of residence and/or care homes if clinically indicated.
- Provide advice and clinical leadership into the Dementia Service including the Care Home Liaison service.
- Prepare Mental Health Act Tribunal reports and participate in Mental Health Act Tribunal meetings (Community Treatment Order patients).
- Provide medical and AC responsibility for patients from designated GP practices.
- Actively participate in team and personal caseload management and supervision.
We are looking for a Consultant Psychiatrist with the following qualifications and experience:
- MB BS or equivalent medical qualification.
Desirable qualifications include:
- Relevant Higher Degree e.g. MD, PhD, MSc or other additional clinical qualifications.
- MRCPsych OR MRCPsych equivalent approved by the Royal College of Psychiatrists.
Eligibility criteria include:
- Fully registered with the GMC with a licence to practise at the time of appointment.
- Included on the GMC Specialist Register OR within six months of gaining CCT.
- Approved clinician status OR able to achieve within 3 months of appointment.
- Approved under S12 OR able to achieve within 3 months of appointment.
Desirable experience includes:
- CCT in General Adult Psychiatry.
