Role Summary
UCEM is embarking on a significant project to implement a new Student Support System, which is crucial for managing student inquiries and support services. The Project Manager will be responsible for steering this initiative, defining its scope, and ensuring successful execution.
The Project Manager will oversee all facets of the project, including technical implementation, process evaluation, training, communication strategies, and change management, with the assistance of a Project Coordinator.
Initially, the role will demand full-time commitment, transitioning to a part-time basis as the project progresses, allowing for support on additional projects. The resource allocation will be coordinated with the Directors of Strategy & Planning and Technology.
- Formulate project specifications, plans, budgets, and resource allocations.
- Guide UCEM to ensure project objectives are achieved.
- Identify and mitigate project risks and challenges.
- Establish robust project governance and manage the Project Board.
- Oversee supplier relationships and evaluate performance.
- Prepare stakeholders for the transitions associated with the new system.
- Ensure quality management processes and documentation are established.
- Report on project progress to the Directors and Project Sponsor.
- Supervise the contributions of the Project Coordinator.
- Align the project with UCEM's operational processes and standards.
- Contribute to the enhancement of UCEM's project management capabilities.
Qualifications Required
Essential:
- Proven experience in system implementation and change management projects.
- Familiarity with Agile methodologies.
- Ability to lead technical teams and manage supplier relationships.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel, Teams, Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
- Experience in project leadership, stakeholder engagement, and presenting strategic initiatives to senior management.
- Skilled in creating comprehensive project documentation for diverse stakeholders.
- Exceptional leadership and communication abilities.
- Experience in remote project management and budget oversight.
Desirable:
- Background in higher education or public sector projects.
- Knowledge of Microsoft Dynamics, SQL, and Tribal SITS applications.
- Project management certification (Agile, PRINCE2, APM).
