Energy Consultant - Temporary Position

Location: Remote

Peregrine is excited to announce a fantastic opportunity for an Energy Consultant to join our team on a temporary basis. This role is essential in driving our energy initiatives and supporting our commitment to sustainability.

About Peregrine:

We are dedicated to fostering a sustainable future, and this position plays a crucial role in our mission. While this is an entry-level position, candidates should possess a solid understanding of Microsoft Office applications, particularly in creating impactful presentations and written communications.

Department Overview:

The Energy Consultant will report to the Head of Compliance and Sustainability, becoming an integral part of the Compliance and Sustainability team. The primary responsibility of this role is to contribute to the development and execution of the organization's energy strategy, focusing on achieving net carbon neutrality and implementing sustainable practices across the institution.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide accurate and high-quality data to support utility management and decarbonization efforts, ensuring the organization maintains its environmental certifications and reduces its carbon emissions.
  • Oversee the energy performance of facilities by collecting and analyzing data, as well as conducting audits.
  • Collaborate closely with the maintenance team regarding Building Management Systems (BMS) and supply relevant information to project teams.
  • Demonstrate knowledge of estate management practices.

Desired Qualifications:

Accountabilities:

  • Engage with energy brokers to secure utility contracts and manage the tendering process.
  • Build and maintain relationships with utility providers, ensuring effective project management.
  • Assist in the preparation and review of utility invoices.

Manage contractors and consultants effectively, reporting on energy and water usage, costs in relation to budget, and carbon data.

  • Prepare necessary reports, including compliance data.
  • Facilitate the interface between brokers and energy management databases.
  • Enhance and maintain systems that provide essential information for internal, statutory, and regulatory reporting.
  • Oversee revenue streams from Feed-in Tariff (FIT) installations.

Interpersonal Skills:

  • A minimum of 5 years of experience in energy management or a related field.
  • Proficient in utilizing building management systems.
  • Experience in managing revenue budgets.
  • Exceptional communication skills, with the ability to convey information clearly to diverse audiences.
  • Demonstrated project management capabilities.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and stakeholder engagement experience.
  • Willingness to travel as required.
