We are dedicated to fostering a sustainable future, and this position is pivotal in our mission. While this is an entry-level role, candidates should possess a solid understanding of Microsoft Office tools, particularly PowerPoint, along with strong written communication abilities.
Department Overview:
The Energy Consultant will report to the Head of Compliance and Sustainability, becoming an integral part of the Compliance and Sustainability team. The primary responsibility is to develop and implement the energy strategy aimed at achieving net carbon neutrality across the organization and the broader community.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide accurate and high-quality data to support utility management and decarbonization efforts, ensuring the organization maintains its environmental certifications and reduces its carbon emissions.
- Oversee the energy performance of facilities by collecting and analyzing data and conducting audits.
- Collaborate closely with the maintenance team regarding Building Management Systems (BMS) and supply relevant information to project teams.
- Possess knowledge of estate management practices.
Desired Qualifications:
Accountabilities:
- Engage with energy brokers to secure utility contracts and manage the tendering process.
- Build and maintain relationships with utility providers, ensuring effective project management.
- Assist in the preparation and review of utility invoices.
Demonstrate the ability to manage contractors and consultants effectively. Report on energy and water usage, budgetary costs, and carbon data.
- Prepare necessary reports, including compliance data.
- Facilitate the interface between brokers and energy management databases.
- Enhance and maintain systems that provide essential information for internal, statutory, and regulatory reporting.
- Oversee revenue streams from Feed-in Tariff (FIT) installations.
Interpersonal Skills:
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in energy management or a related field.
- Familiarity with building management systems.
- Experience in managing revenue budgets.
- Exceptional communication skills, capable of engaging with diverse audiences.
- Proven project management capabilities.
- Strong problem-solving skills and stakeholder engagement experience.
- Willingness to travel as required.
