Job Title: Energy Manager

Join the University of Derby as an Energy Manager and play a key role in shaping and implementing the institution's energy strategy and roadmap to net zero carbon.

About the Role

The Energy Manager will be responsible for managing the energy performance of all university buildings, including collecting, analysing, and auditing data to enable accurate and effective reporting. This will involve working closely with the maintenance team to optimise the Building Management System (BMS) and providing critical information to the Projects team to support new developments.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage the energy performance of all university buildings, including collecting, analysing, and auditing data.
  • Work with the maintenance team to optimise the Building Management System (BMS).
  • Provide critical information to the Projects team to support new developments.
  • Manage significant revenue budgets to support the organisation's energy and sustainability goals.
  • Develop and maintain accurate records of energy consumption information.
  • Ensure the quality and accuracy of utility invoices and authorise payments.
  • Manage contractors and consultants who provide services under your control.
Requirements
  • Demonstrable experience of working in an Energy Management based area in a large estate and with a large portfolio.
  • Experience of using Building Management Systems.
  • Experience of managing large complex data sets.
  • Proven project management skills.
  • Willingness and flexibility to travel and work between University and external sites in a cost-effective and timely manner.
