About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Forensic Nurse Examiner to join our team at the Royal Devon and Exeter NHS Foundation Trust. As a Forensic Nurse Examiner, you will play a critical role in providing holistic health and well-being assessments to individuals who have experienced sexual harm.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct thorough and sensitive forensic examinations to collect evidence and provide care to patients
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, including doctors, specialist nurses, and crisis workers, to provide comprehensive care and support
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with patients, families, and carers to ensure patient-centered care
  • Participate in ongoing education and training to stay up-to-date with best practices and advancements in the field
  • Contribute to the development and implementation of policies and procedures to ensure high-quality care and services
Requirements
  • Registered Nurse or Midwife with a strong background in forensic nursing or a related field
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with diverse populations
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to think critically and make sound judgments
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with a strong commitment to patient-centered care
  • Flexibility to work a variety of shifts, including weekends and nights, as required
