About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Kai Manaaki/Registered Health Professional to join our team and work with our young Maori clients and their whanau. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for providing effective care management and key work based on kaupapa Maori principles.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement care plans that are tailored to the needs of our Maori clients and their whanau.
  • Work collaboratively with community agencies and services to ensure optimal engagement with our Maori clients and whanau.
  • Develop and facilitate groups for clients and whanau as needed, using a strengths-based and client-centered approach.
  • Support the team in delivering a service based on matauranga Maori principles.
About Our Team

The Early Intervention Service is a multi-disciplinary team that offers assessment and treatment to young people who are experiencing psychosis for the first time. We are a bicultural, client-centered, strengths-based, and collaborative team that is inspired by the recovery-focused framework laid out in the book Recovery after a first episode of psychosis.

We aim to deliver a service that is truly bicultural and optimized to achieve equity for our Maori clients. We regularly evaluate our outcomes to ensure that we are constantly improving and innovating our services.

About You

We are seeking an energetic and passionate individual who is committed to working with young Maori and their whanau. As a Kai Manaaki/Registered Health Professional, you will be responsible for adopting creative and holistic ways of assisting our tangata whaiora to recover from a first episode of psychosis.

Experience in delivering mental health services and a current practicing certificate and registration are essential. A current full driver's license is also required.
