About the Role

The Housing Options Service within the Neighbourhoods and Housing directorate is seeking a skilled professional to join its team as a Prevention and Assessment Officer. The successful candidate will work with individuals in housing need and those who are potentially homeless to identify their housing and support needs.

Main Responsibilities

  • Prevent homelessness through proactive measures and interventions
  • Conduct thorough assessments to determine the most suitable solutions for service users
  • Support clients in securing permanent, settled accommodation
  • Participate in a duty rota system to ensure effective service delivery
  • Contribute to the development and implementation of high-quality service standards

The Service is undergoing a transformation programme to meet the requirements of the Homelessness Reduction Act. This has led to the relocation of the Service to a modern city centre location and the establishment of additional staffing resources.
