Role Overview
The Electrical, Control and Instrumentation Engineer will play a pivotal role within our UK operations, working in the Control & Automation Department to oversee and deliver projects for key clients. This position demands a comprehensive understanding of electrical engineering principles and experience across a spectrum of technical roles and responsibilities.

Reports to: EC&I Manager
Key Relationships: Managing Director (UK), Engineering Departments, Control & Automation Team
Key Responsibilities
- Collaborate effectively with a team of Electrical and Automation engineers to ensure tasks are completed in alignment with customer expectations and the Company’s values and quality standards.
- Assist in accurately defining, designing, and maintaining innovative production processes to enhance efficiency, flexibility, and the technical capabilities of the Company’s electrical design.
- Ensure compliance with departmental KPIs and quality standards.
- Establish and implement electrical standards.
- Engage in continuous personal development initiatives.
Principal Duties
- Foster effective communication both internally and externally, ensuring all team members uphold the highest standards to maintain the Company’s reputation and cultivate a professional culture.
- Coordinate with the project team to efficiently plan and prioritize tasks for profitable and timely delivery of contracted outputs.
- Adhere to the Company’s Health and Safety Policy and other requirements related to the office environment and client sites.
- Maintain electrical standards, ensuring outputs are consistent, accurate, and profitable.
- Perform additional duties as assigned by the EC&I Manager.
Required Skills & Knowledge
- Proficient in AutoCAD, Microsoft Word, and Excel.
- Engage with customers to gather design requirements and ensure compliance with standards and specifications.
- Conduct site surveys to collect design information.
- Design electrical control systems, including the creation of PLC I/O lists, electrical control panel schematics, terminal lists, cable block diagrams, cable schedules, and core schedules.
- Participate in the selection and procurement of electrical components and instrumentation.
- Prepare specifications and inquiry documents for the procurement of electrical control panels, instrumentation, and electrical installations.
- Evaluate quotations for electrical control panels, instrumentation, and electrical installations.
- Oversee the procurement and progress of electrical control panel manufacturing and electrical installations.
- Conduct Factory Acceptance Testing (FAT) of electrical control panels.
- Manage and supervise electrical installation subcontractors, ensuring quality and specifications are met within agreed timelines, including organizing shutdowns and work permits.
- Control variations from customers and suppliers.
- Perform electrical dry testing, including setting up instrumentation, inverters, and process equipment.
- Assist the commissioning team during wet testing and product trials.
- Develop Risk Assessment and Method Statements (RAMS) for all electrical site activities.
- Compile final project documentation.
