Job Title: National CBRN Centre Operations Officer – Constable – WM

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced CBRN Operations Officer to join our team at Counter Terrorism Policing. As a key member of our CBRN Operations team, you will play a critical role in supporting the efficient and professional running of our operations.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Work collaboratively with our team to develop and maintain the UK's multi-agency capability to respond to CBRN incidents affecting national security.
  • Monitor and analyze relevant intelligence products to inform the CBRN community on current and future CBRN threats.
  • Collaborate with UK Intelligence Community Partners to write and deliver bespoke intelligence briefing products to the UK CBRN community.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with external agencies and partners to enhance our understanding of CBRN threats and capabilities.
  • Use police intelligence indices to inform intelligence products developed by our operations team.
  • Deploy nationally as part of our operations team to support police forces around the UK with spontaneous CBRN incidents affecting national security.
  • Provide advice, direction, and peer review to support partners during the planning of CBRN operations.
Essential Requirements:
  • Recent experience of multi-agency working.
  • Experience of creating and delivering intelligence products within an intelligence function.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to deliver intelligence briefings to different audiences.
  • Be personable, approachable, and people-focused, with a strong understanding of diversity, equality, and inclusivity.
  • Motivated and able to effectively prioritize and plan workloads with a careful attention to detail and excellent organizational skills.
  • Hold a UK driving license and be trained to respond in police vehicles.
  • Competent in the use of MS Office products.
Desirable Requirements:
  • Hold Intelligence Professionalisation Programme (IPP) accreditation.
  • Hold a CBRN Tactical Advisor qualification or have significant experience responding to CBRN-related incidents.
  • Be able to use NCIA and other IT systems at higher government classifications.
  • Hold a Radiation Protection Supervisor qualification.
Additional Information:

This position is offered as a 2-year secondment to West Midlands Police as host to NCBRNC and attracts Central Service Allowance (CSA). You may be required to work occasional unsocial hours and be expected to visit various locations across the UK with overnight stays. International travel may also be required.
