National CBRN Centre Operations Officer – Constable – WM

Join Counter Terrorism Policing as a CBRN Operations Officer – Constable and play a critical role in supporting the efficient and professional running of the CBRN Operations team at the National Counter Biotoxin Centre (NCBRNC).
Key Responsibilities:- Work collaboratively with the CBRN Operations team to develop and maintain the UK's multi-agency capability to respond to CBRN incidents affecting national security.
- Monitor and analyze relevant intelligence products to inform the CBRN community on current and future CBRN threats.
- Collaborate with UK Intelligence Community Partners (UKIC) to write and deliver bespoke intelligence briefing products to the UK CBRN community.
- Develop and maintain relationships with external agencies and partners to enhance the CBRN Operations team's understanding of current and future CBRN threats.
- Contribute to the development of intelligence products using police intelligence indices.
- Deploy nationally as part of the operations team to support police forces around the UK with spontaneous CBRN incidents affecting national security and planned protective security operations.
- Provide expert advice and guidance to partners during the planning of CBRN operations.
- Recent experience of multi-agency working.
- Experience of creating and delivering intelligence products within an intelligence function.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to deliver intelligence briefings to different audiences.
- Be personable, approachable, and people-focused, demonstrating an understanding of diversity, equality, and inclusivity in your work.
- Motivated and able to effectively prioritize and plan workloads with a careful attention to detail and excellent organizational skills.
- Hold a UK driving license and be trained to respond in police vehicles, either holding standard or advanced driver qualifications.
- Competent in the use of MS Office products (Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Outlook & Teams).
- Hold Intelligence Professionalisation Programme (IPP) accreditation in your current role.
- Hold a CBRN Tactical Advisor qualification, or have significant experience responding to CBRN-related incidents.
- Be able to use NCIA and other IT systems at higher government classifications or be willing to undergo training.
- Hold a Radiation Protection Supervisor qualification.
This position is offered as a 2-year secondment to West Midlands Police as host to NCBRNC and attracts Central Service Allowance (CSA). You may be required to work occasional unsocial hours and be expected to visit various locations across the UK with overnight stays. International travel may also be required. Flexible working patterns may be considered.
