An exciting opportunity has emerged for Casual Enablement Care Workers within our KITE team, dedicated to supporting individuals in their journey towards independence.

About KITE: KITE specializes in providing short-term assistance to individuals in their homes, helping them achieve specific goals and maintain their independence. Our service caters to those recently discharged from healthcare facilities or experiencing a decline in their health and capabilities. KITE is registered and regulated by the Care Quality Commission (CQC) and operates throughout the year.

As a Casual Enablement Care Worker, you will be instrumental in aiding individuals to enhance their confidence and foster greater independence during a defined support period. We seek individuals who are positive, encouraging, and skilled at motivating others to work towards their personal objectives.

You will collaborate closely with Therapists and Enablement Officers, delivering care in various areas.

KITE is devoted to providing high-quality care and support to individuals in their homes. We are looking for a compassionate and committed Casual Enablement Care Worker to join our team.

Your Role Will Include:

  • Assisting individuals with daily activities to help them regain their independence, including meal preparation, personal care, and medication management.
  • Collaborating with families, enablement officers, managers, therapists, and other healthcare professionals to ensure a safe, effective, and responsive service.
  • Supporting the development of personalized care plans tailored to meet the unique goals of each individual.
  • Delivering care with compassion and empathy, respecting the personal dignity of each individual.
  • Reporting any signs of abuse or identified risks to the individual receiving care.
  • Monitoring and communicating any changes in health status to the relevant health or social care professionals.

Essential Qualifications, Skills, and Experience:

  • NVQ in Health and Social Care or equivalent, or a willingness to pursue this qualification.
  • Commitment to continual professional development through training.

Skills:

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to utilize technology, such as smartphones.
  • Capability to motivate individuals and help build their confidence.
  • Ability to identify health and safety concerns in a person's home and follow risk assessments, escalating issues as necessary.
  • Awareness and respect for diverse backgrounds and needs, with a willingness to learn how to meet those needs.

Experience:

  • Knowledge of the Care Quality Commission Essential Standards.
  • Familiarity with the Code of Conduct for Adult Social Care Workers.
  • Understanding of enablement principles, focusing on supporting individuals rather than performing tasks for them.
