Position Overview
We are looking for a dedicated and experienced Senior Psychiatric Consultant to join our esteemed team at Nouvita. This role is pivotal in leading our specialized Psychiatric Intensive Care Units and acute wards, ensuring a high standard of care for our patients.
Key Responsibilities
As a Senior Psychiatric Consultant, you will:
- Collaborate with a multidisciplinary management team to enhance the quality of psychiatric services.
- Provide expert advice on psychiatric care and maintain responsibility for a defined patient caseload.
- Oversee the performance and professional development of fellow Consultant Psychiatrists.
- Engage with external stakeholders to promote the services offered by Nouvita.
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives and contribute to research efforts aimed at service enhancement.
- Lead educational and health promotion activities within the Mental Health Service.
Qualifications
To be considered for this role, candidates must possess:
- Approved Clinician status.
- Membership in the Royal College of Psychiatrists (MRCPsych) with current registration with GMC.
- A minimum of five years' experience in an inpatient psychiatric setting.
- Experience in Psychiatric Intensive Care Units and Acute Services.
Skills and Knowledge
The ideal candidate will demonstrate:
- Strong knowledge of evidence-based practices in psychiatry.
- Effective communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Ability to prioritize clinical needs and make independent clinical decisions.
- Up-to-date knowledge of current practices in inpatient psychiatry.
Working Hours
This position offers flexible working hours, with options for full-time or part-time arrangements.
