About the Role

We are seeking a highly motivated and organized Clinical Trials Coordinator to join our Core Research team at University Hospitals Birmingham NHS Foundation Trust. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for managing the local portfolio of clinical trials, maintaining and updating the Trust Research Database, and ensuring compliance with research governance regulations.

Key Responsibilities
  • Contribute to the management of the local portfolio of clinical trials, including coordinating with research teams and stakeholders.
  • Maintain and update the Trust Research Database, ensuring accurate and timely data entry.
  • Access the Trust's IT systems to retrieve and analyze relevant information, and supply data as required to the Network Research Manager.
  • Ensure that trial-specific investigations are undertaken as required by the research protocol, and randomize/register patients to trials according to protocol requirements.
  • Assist in ensuring that protocol-required tests/procedures are done according to the schedule in the specific protocol, and collect patient data from medical notes and complete case record forms (CRFs).
  • Transcribe/export data from medical records to CRFs as required by the protocol, and ensure safe filing and storage of study documentation and samples in accordance with ICH GCP and Research Governance.
Person Specification

We are looking for a candidate with significant relevant experience in clinical trial/research data management, and experience of research in a healthcare setting. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of current legislation regarding research governance issues, and be able to adapt working hours to meet deadlines.

The successful candidate will be a team player with excellent communication and interpersonal skills, and be able to demonstrate evidence of punctuality, adaptability, and a commitment to delivering high-quality results.
