Job Overview

Coperion, a leading technology provider in the food industry, is seeking a highly skilled Mechanical Design Engineer to join our Engineering team. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for designing and issuing food process equipment to meet specific customer contract requirements and to support equipment development projects.

This role involves configuring standard equipment, designing completely new equipment, and providing technical support to all relevant business areas. You will work closely with our sales, manufacturing, and customer services teams to ensure seamless project execution.

Main Responsibilities

  • Design mechanical equipment and systems to meet customer specifications, internal standards, and quality procedures.
  • Generate all associated engineering drawings, specifications, and part lists for manufacturing and assembly purposes.
  • Support manufacturing, assembly, installation, and commissioning to resolve any design issues and remain the technical responsible throughout the projects.
  • Implement continuous design improvements for our equipment and design, test, and develop new equipment.
  • Provide technical expertise to the sales and customer services teams.

Requirements

  • A degree in Mechanical Engineering (BEng or above) or equivalent.
  • Experience designing original capital equipment, such as food and beverage, oil and gas, and pharmaceuticals.
  • Fluent in the use of 3D CAD packages and experience with PLM Software.
  • Experience preparing and checking mechanical calculations.
  • Solution-driven and customer-oriented sensibility.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and prioritize accordingly.
  • Experience working to machinery standards and European Directives.
  • Strong ability to both self-lead and work effectively within a team.
