Job Purpose

As a Senior Mechanical Design Engineer, you will be responsible for designing and issuing food process equipment to meet specific customer contract requirements and to support equipment development projects.

This will involve configuring standard equipment, designing completely new equipment, and providing technical support to all relevant business areas.

Main Duties
  • Design mechanical equipment and systems to meet customer specifications, internal standards, and quality procedures.
  • Generate all associated engineering drawings, specifications, and part lists for manufacturing and assembly purposes.
  • Support manufacturing, assembly, installation, and commission to resolve any design issues.
  • Implement continuous design improvements for our equipment and design, test, and develop new equipment.
  • Provide technical support to sales and customer services as a mechanical engineering and equipment expert.
Candidate Profile

We're looking for a candidate with a degree in Mechanical Engineering (BEng or above) or equivalent experience.

Key skills include:

  • Fluent use of 3D CAD packages and experience of PLM Software.
  • Experience of preparing and checking mechanical calculations.
  • Solution-driven and customer-oriented sensibility.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and prioritize accordingly.
  • Experience working to machinery standards and European Directives.
  • Strong ability to both self-lead and work effectively within a team.
