The Role
As a Fettler, you will play a critical role in ensuring our customers receive the best possible service, and our workshops are efficient, well-managed, and meet the highest standards. As a Workshop Manager, you will be responsible for the day-to-day running and maintenance of an individual Fettle workshop, ultimately accountable for the success and profitability of the workshop. You will oversee all operational aspects of the site, including stock, setup, security, and the performance and development of the mechanics working in this site.

Key Responsibilities

  1. Ensure the workshop meets revenue and margin targets, and these are clearly communicated and understood within the team.
  2. Effectively train, nurture, and develop the mechanics within the workshop, focusing on technical and soft skills.
  3. Responsible for the day-to-day management and engagement of the workshop's mechanics, as well as their long-term performance management.
  4. Oversee and manage the workshop's rota, including holiday requests.
  5. Responsible for overseeing and managing stock levels within the workshop.
  6. Accountable for the setup, maintenance, and appearance of the workshop, raising any issues and maintaining cleanliness and organization.
  7. Accountable for health and safety within the workshop.
  8. Work closely with Operations and HQ to drive incremental improvements to performance and engagement.

Requirements

  1. Must have demonstrable experience equivalent to a Cytech Level 3 qualification (the qualification itself is not a must, but must be able to demonstrate knowledge).
  2. This individual will have great commercial acumen, including an in-depth awareness of retail operations and knowledge on how to serve customers effectively, solving their issues.
  3. Flexible individual who can adapt to constantly changing environments and react positively, proactively managing multiple tasks and responsibilities.
  4. Experience in line managing individuals, including exposure to recruitment, training, and day-to-day task delegation.
  5. Passionate about cycling, with a real enthusiasm for the sport, bikes, and a willingness to learn all aspects of bike repairs and servicing.
