Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced nurse to lead our continence service. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing specialist advice and support to our teams to develop high-quality, equitable services for patients with continence needs.

The post holder will provide specialist clinical skills and knowledge to patients, carers, and staff within our community health services and adult community services to promote continence and manage incontinence.

Key Responsibilities
  • Ensure the assessment of patients with complex continence needs or who may require specialist interventions in community settings.
  • Advise and support in the instruction of intermittent self-catheterisation.
  • Manage, develop, coordinate, and enhance the role of clinical staff within the specialist continence service.
  • Deliver nurse-led Level 2 assessments in clinics, patients' homes, and other community settings.
  • Monitor product use and achieve efficiencies to reduce wastage.
  • Liaise with multi-professional teams, external stakeholders, and service users.
  • Conduct grievance investigations and staff performance reviews.
  • Analyse complex data to identify root causes of issues and work with others to resolve them.
  • Ensure operational efficiency through correct staff allocation and workforce management.
  • Communicate with patients and service users about queries and complaints.
Requirements
  • Manage admin staff, conduct sickness reviews, investigate grievances, and disciplinary cases.
  • Conduct appraisals for team members.
  • Allocate work to clinicians.
  • Demonstrate the Trust's values in the work environment.
  • Be responsible for the use and expenditure of Trust resources.
  • Deliver effective healthcare within the organisation.
  • Establish effective leadership and communication.
  • Clinical governance, risk reduction, audit, and research.
  • Management and use of resources and information.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date records.
  • Operate with quality and maintain a safe environment.
