About the Role

We are seeking a highly motivated and dedicated Secondary English Tutor to join our team of educators. As a tutor, you will play a vital role in supporting the academic development of our students, helping them to unlock their full potential.

Key Responsibilities
  • Tutor students in Secondary English, providing individualized support and guidance to help them achieve their academic goals.
  • Plan and deliver tuition sessions for groups of up to three students, creating engaging and interactive learning experiences.
  • Form impactful relationships with students, building trust and rapport to create a positive and supportive learning environment.
  • Work on a self-employed basis, with flexibility to choose your own schedule and work at your own pace.
  • Tutoring typically takes place during the school day on the school premises, providing a convenient and accessible learning environment for students.

Requirements
  • A minimum of three hours' availability per week to deliver tutoring sessions.
  • A grade of A/7 in the relevant GCSE subject (or equivalent), or relevant experience and qualifications.
  • The ability to undergo an enhanced DBS check, provided and paid for by The Tutor Trust.
  • The ability to register as self-employed in the UK, with a valid tax identification number.
  • No teaching experience is required, but a passion for education and a commitment to our mission are essential.
