About the Role

We are seeking a skilled and passionate Secondary English Tutor to join our team at The Tutor Trust. As a tutor, you will work with small groups of students, either one-to-one or one-to-three, to provide high-quality tuition in Secondary English.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Plan and deliver tuition sessions for groups of up to three students.
  • Form impactful relationships with students over the course of a tuition assignment, usually 15 weeks.
  • Work on a self-employed basis, with tutoring usually taking place during the school day on the school premises.
What We're Offering

As a tutor with The Tutor Trust, you will have the opportunity to make a real difference in the lives of young people across the North. You will:

  • Earn £21 minimum per hour for planning and delivering tuition.
  • Gain key teaching skills from our core tutor training programme, which is delivered online and takes 10-15 hours to complete.
  • Have access to ongoing support and Continued Professional Development (CPD) opportunities.
  • Work on a self-employed basis, with the flexibility to choose your own hours and schedule.
What We're Looking For

We are looking for tutors who are passionate about Secondary English and have a commitment to our mission. You should:

  • Have at least three hours' availability per week to deliver tutoring.
  • Hold a grade of A/7 in the relevant GCSE subject (or equivalent). Extenuating circumstances will be considered.
  • Be willing to undergo an enhanced DBS check, provided and paid for by The Tutor Trust.
  • Be able to register as self-employed in the UK.
