SEN Teaching Assistant Opportunities

At Long-Term Teachers, we are seeking experienced and enthusiastic individuals to support pupils with Special Educational Needs (SEN) in various roles across South West and Worcestershire.

We are currently looking for a dedicated SEN teaching assistant to work with a non-verbal pupil with Down syndrome. The ideal candidate will have experience in SEN/SEMH and/or pastoral care, with a strong understanding of behavioural management and additional SEN/SEMH requirements.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support pupils with SEN in a 1:1 setting, using comprehensive knowledge of support/intervention programmes
  • Work collaboratively with teachers and other support staff to develop and implement individualised education plans
  • Provide emotional support and nurture a kind and patient approach to meet the needs of pupils with complex needs
  • Assist with the development and implementation of behaviour management strategies to promote positive pupil outcomes

Requirements

  • Experience in SEN/SEMH and/or pastoral care
  • Strong understanding of behavioural management and additional SEN/SEMH requirements
  • Ability to work collaboratively with teachers and other support staff
  • Comprehensive knowledge of support/intervention programmes for SEND
  • Patience, nurturing, and kind mindset
  • Flexibility and adaptability in a fast-paced environment
