SEN Teaching Assistant Opportunity

We are seeking a dedicated and nurturing SEN teaching assistant to join our team at a lovely special school in Cheltenham. As a key member of our staff, you will provide vital support to our teachers and pupils, helping to create a positive and inclusive learning environment.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Assist teachers with lesson preparation and delivery, including setting up activities and resources.
  • Support pupils with special educational needs, including autism and social emotional and mental health.
  • Help to maintain a safe and organized classroom environment.
  • Communicate effectively with teachers, pupils, and parents to ensure a smooth and successful learning experience.
Requirements:
  • Experience working with SEN pupils, preferably in a special school setting.
  • Knowledge of phonics, teams, and behavioral management.
  • Ability to work flexibly, including covering staff absence and potentially developing into a permanent position.
  • Full enhanced DBS on the updated service (or willingness to apply).
