Job Overview

As a SEN Teaching Assistant, you will play a crucial role in supporting individual students with Special Educational Needs (SEN). Your work will directly contribute to creating a safe, engaging, and inclusive learning environment.

Responsibilities
  • Classroom Preparation: Set up classrooms before lessons and maintain a safe, clean environment.
  • Personalized Support: Provide 1:1 care to students with SEN, including those with physical or mental impairments, learning difficulties (e.g., dyslexia), ADHD, or ASD.
  • Collaboration: Assist teachers in preparing lesson materials and managing school equipment.
  • Progress Tracking: Record and report students' progress to the teacher.
  • Focus and Behaviour: Help students stay focused during class hours and support teachers in managing student behaviour.
  • Core Skills Development: Work with students to improve core skills such as reading and writing.
  • Well-Being: Look after and manage students who may be unwell or upset.
Requirements
  • Previous Experience: At least 40 days of experience as Teaching Assistant or equivalent.
  • Passion: Genuine interest in working with children with Special Educational Needs.
