Candidates should demonstrate exceptional flexibility to accommodate the evolving demands of the role, possess a friendly demeanor, and maintain a proactive attitude towards their responsibilities. A solid educational background, adaptability, and strong organizational abilities are essential.

Previous experience in a medical administrative role and familiarity with the Patient Administration System (WPAS) are crucial. Proficiency in the Welsh language is considered an advantage.

Key Responsibilities

The role involves delivering a high-quality typing and administrative service to assist the medical secretarial team. You will support the management of patient medical records and maintain an efficient filing system, guiding patients through their care journey.

Responsibilities include resolving routine issues in accordance with departmental standard operating procedures (SOPs), such as locating and filing case notes, tracking records, addressing waiting list concerns, and communicating with patients regarding appointment changes. You will utilize established guidelines and escalate matters as needed, making informed decisions based on straightforward work-related facts.

Proficiency in Welsh is advantageous for this position; we welcome applications from both Welsh and English speakers.

Qualifications

Essential

  • A good standard of general education (GCSE in Maths and English at grade C or above, or equivalent).
  • RSA/OCR Level 2 or equivalent experience, with proficiency in Microsoft Word.
  • NVQ Level 3 or equivalent knowledge and experience, or a willingness to work towards this qualification.
