Heritage Centre Engagement and Learning Officer

Job Summary
The London Borough of Newham is seeking a skilled and experienced professional to fill the role of Heritage Centre Learning and Engagement Officer. This position will be responsible for managing all learning, engagement, and consultation activities, including volunteer and co-production activities, in the Newham Heritage Centre.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and implement a comprehensive learning and engagement strategy for the Newham Heritage Centre
- Manage and coordinate volunteer and co-production activities to enhance the centre's programs and services
- Collaborate with the Project Manager and Regeneration colleagues to ensure alignment with the centre's goals and objectives
- Design and deliver engaging programs and activities for diverse audiences, including residents, community groups, and cultural stakeholders
- Build and maintain relationships with key stakeholders, including community leaders, cultural institutions, and local businesses
- Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of programs and activities, making recommendations for improvement
Requirements
- Proven experience in learning and engagement, community outreach, or a related field
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work with diverse stakeholders
- Strong project management and coordination skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with a flexible and adaptable approach
- Knowledge of the cultural and community landscape in Newham, with a commitment to promoting diversity and inclusion
