Financial Operations Manager - Office Based

As part of the strategic growth initiatives, Litron Lasers Ltd is seeking to recruit a seasoned and qualified in-house Accountant. The ideal candidate will possess a blend of technical and operational accounting expertise and will be motivated to integrate this role into the management framework.

The selected individual will supervise a compact finance and administration team, playing a crucial role in assisting the Board of Directors.

Reporting directly to the Financial Director, your responsibilities will encompass all facets of corporate accounting and reporting functions.

This position merges both technical and operational accounting duties, including:

  • Preparation of annual statutory accounts for medium-sized enterprises and management of annual audits.
  • Development of quarterly management accounts, including monthly analyses and commentary, as well as variance assessments.
  • Preparation of annual claims for research and development tax credits.
  • Maintenance of the fixed assets register.
  • Verification of accounts payable.
  • Conducting balance sheet reconciliations.
  • Management of the general ledger, including accruals and prepayments.
  • Completion and submission of governmental statistical surveys.
  • Assisting external auditors in the review and finalization of statutory accounts.
  • Supporting external auditors in the preparation and submission of UK Corporation Tax returns.
  • Providing assistance and coverage for other finance personnel.
  • Offering general financial guidance to the Board of Directors.
  • Delivering insightful financial data to facilitate strategic decision-making by the senior leadership team.
  • Assisting the Finance Director with ongoing projects and enhancements to systems.
  • Overseeing and supporting a proficient finance and administration team.

The successful candidate will be a qualified company accountant with prior experience in management accounting, ideally within a manufacturing or high-tech sector.

Qualifications include:

  • Accreditation as a qualified Accountant to CIMA, ACCA, or ACA standards.
  • Experience with VAT and Corporation Tax reporting.
  • Proficient IT systems experience, preferably with SAGE Accounting Software and MS Excel.
  • A flexible approach with exceptional organizational and prioritization skills, emphasizing deadline adherence.
