Position Overview

Job Title: Floral Events Specialist

An exceptional opportunity to engage in a diverse and stimulating role supporting the founder of a premier floral and event design enterprise.

Wild at Heart, established in 1993, is renowned for its lavish and distinctive aesthetic. Our projects, including contracts, events, and weddings, are truly spectacular, and we bring extensive expertise to ensure every element of site design, landscaping, event execution, and floral artistry is both original and breathtaking.

Reporting Structure: Directly to the Founder

Work Schedule: Full Time, 45 hours per week, with weekend and evening commitments expected due to the nature of the events sector.

While our standard working hours are from 9 AM to 6 PM, the Floral Events Specialist is required to attend events, which will include weekend and evening hours. Regular early visits to the flower market are encouraged to observe seasonal blooms, enhance flower knowledge, and foster strong supplier relationships.

Location: Flexible working arrangement, with 2-3 days per week in the office.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage phone and email inquiries, ensuring clients receive comprehensive proposals and budgets.
  • Organize and participate in venue meetings and sample presentations with potential clients and suppliers.
  • Collaborate with the founder and the events team regarding floral design and event styling.
  • Develop initial floral and design concepts, including mood boards for client proposals.
  • Prepare budgets utilizing spreadsheet software.
  • Handle operational administration and event logistics.
  • Oversee flower procurement and collection from the market.
  • Supervise a team of freelance florists for each event.
  • Act as the client liaison on-site and provide support to the Creative Director and crew.
  • Conduct pre-event preparations and design custom arrangements for clients.

Qualifications

  • Ability to cultivate and maintain relationships with suppliers.
  • A valid UK manual driving license is essential for driving company vehicles.
  • Strong knowledge of seasonal flowers and their care.

  • Efficient in meeting tight deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • A creative background with a strong design sensibility.
  • Meticulous attention to detail.
  • Extensive experience in floral ordering for both small and large-scale projects.
  • Proficient in floral mechanics for weddings and events with bespoke designs.
  • Solid understanding of floral design principles to provide innovative ideas for proposals and client briefs.
