Laboratory Technician

Job Summary:
We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Laboratory Technician to join our team at PerkinElmer. As a Laboratory Technician, you will play a critical role in ensuring the efficient operations within our customer lab space, allowing our scientists to focus on their research and development.
Key Responsibilities:
- Equipment Calibration and Maintenance: Perform routine calibration and verification checks on laboratory equipment to ensure accuracy and precision.
- Lab Upkeep and Cleaning: Maintain and clean laboratory equipment, consumables, and chemicals to ensure a safe and healthy working environment.
- General Laboratory Tasks: Assist with general laboratory tasks, including maintenance of equipment, stocking of consumables, and overall lab upkeep.
- Customer-Specific Tasks: Perform tasks tailored to the specific needs of our customers, ensuring their projects are completed efficiently and effectively.
- Compliance and Safety: Follow Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), protocols, and guidelines to ensure compliance with health and safety regulations, as well as environmental and operational aspects of daily activities.
- Collaboration and Communication: Interact with colleagues across functions to solve technical problems and provide excellent customer service.
- Continuous Improvement: Identify opportunities for process improvements and implement changes to benefit our ways of working.
Requirements:
- Education and Experience: Good educational background and experience within a laboratory environment is a plus.
- Skills and Qualifications: Excellent organizational skills, attention to detail, and ability to troubleshoot and solve problems independently. Basic experience with MS Office and excellent customer service skills.
- Working Environment: Must be able to work in a laboratory setting, wearing personal protective equipment, and occasionally lifting up to 25 pounds. Specific vision abilities required include observing details at close range, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
