Job Summary

We are looking for an experienced Yard Manager to oversee the day-to-day operations of our yard. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing resources, including equipment, machinery, and tools. They will also be responsible for logistics and inventory control, ensuring that materials are properly stored and delivered to the right place at the right time.

Key Responsibilities

  • Resource Management: Organize and manage the resources in the yard, including equipment, machinery, and tools.
  • Logistics and Inventory Control: Oversee the receipt, storage, and distribution of materials, ensuring that inventory levels are accurate and up-to-date.
  • Equipment Maintenance: Schedule routine maintenance and ensure that equipment is properly maintained and serviced.
  • Team Management: Supervise and manage the yard staff, assigning tasks and providing support as needed.
  • Safety and Compliance: Conduct regular safety inspections and ensure that all personnel are properly trained and equipped to perform their duties.
  • Communication: Facilitate communication between different teams, including contracts managers, suppliers, and other stakeholders.
  • Manufacturer and Supplier Management: Develop and maintain relationships with manufacturers and suppliers, negotiating contracts and arranging deliveries.
  • Yard Presentation: Ensure that the yard is properly maintained and organized, reflecting positively on the company.

Requirements

  • Yard Manager experience: A minimum of 2 years of experience in a yard management role.
  • Basic management skills: Strong organizational and communication skills, with the ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities.
  • Physical ability: The ability to perform physical tasks, such as lifting and moving equipment, as well as work in an office environment.
  • Office skills: Proficiency in basic Microsoft software, including Word, Excel, and Outlook.
  • Communication skills: Excellent communication skills, with the ability to facilitate high-level conversations and projects.
